Tia Utzinger, LCSW grew up in the beauty of Gallatin County and knew since an early age that she would go into the helping profession. Following high school from Bozeman Senior High School, Tia completed both her undergraduate degree from the University of Montana in Missoula and master’s degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Tia has worked in a variety of settings including residential, school, outreach, and home visitations. Twenty years ago, after living in various states in the west and southwest, she returned to the Bozeman community to work and raise her family.
Tia is excited to be joining Providence Mental Health after working as a private therapist in the valley. She loves working with children, teens, families, adults, and aging populations. As an EMDR therapist, Tia has extensive experience working with victims of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. She embraces client-centered, strengths-based and solution-focused therapies. One of Tia’s strengths is meeting clients where they are at in their life and using various strengths-based methods to help them address their specific challenges.
Tia’s love of learning propels her to constantly seek opportunities to improve both professionally and personally. During her time away from work, she enjoys spending quality time with her children, family and friends, as well as skiing, hiking, running, reading, and traveling.
