JD was born and raised in California. He is service oriented and enjoys helping others. He joined the US Army and served for 10 years. He left military service and continued to serve others as a law enforcement officer. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Montana State University-Bozeman in applied psychology. He went on to earn his Masters of Science in Marriage, Family, and Couples Counseling from Montana State University-Bozeman. He also obtained his Masters Certificate in addictions counseling from Montana State University-Bozeman .
JD focuses his counseling efforts on trauma, family concerns, and addiction/recovery. JD is a Narrative theorist who utilizes Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to assist individuals and families to make changes were necessary and enhance existing skills, knowledge, and abilities.
When not helping others, JD is enjoying time with his family, fishing, or spending time outdoors.
