Hannah Jester was born and raised in Chico, California. She attended UC Santa Cruz for her undergraduate before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area to study theatre. Somewhere along the way, things grew and morphed, ending in a Master’s Degree from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in Counseling Psychology with a focus in Drama Therapy.
Hannah began work in the field with incarcerated men at San Quentin State Prison through Shakespeare for Social Justice. She then moved into working with children and teens (and their families) at the Urban Services YMCA Youth Services Bureau in San Francisco. Through her three years at the Urban Services, Hannah worked with over 30 clients between the ages of 6 and 20 years old in schools, in the community, and through the Juvenile Probation Department.
Hannah is currently working towards licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Clinical Professional Counselor. In her free time, Hannah enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, taking photographs, reading, watching movies, and creating art. Hannah is excited to join the Providence team!
